Life is full and amazing things are happening each and every day.
A wonderful project is unfolding here in the Napa Valley and I'm so blessed to be a part of the magic. I was asked to join the advisory board for The Ceres Community Project, Napa Valley as their consulting chef. I am so excited about the project and all the possibilities. We've just begun to launch our program – here's a little about what we're doing.

Spring is in the air -- it's a bit chilly outside today, but sunny and clear. The trees and flowers are beginning to open and energy is moving in creativity. I find myself creating in the kitchen and the garden and enjoying every moment. Get outside and soak it all in !

Have you ever traveled to a place when arriving you feel such an overwhelming sense of recognition and remembrance? A gentle feeling of "I'm home". Not in the traditional sense, you've left that physical home behind to get here, right here, right now, in an energetic sense. For me, that place is Bali.

Farming and all things earthy are on my mind right now. Partly because it's that time of year, the height of the growing and farmers market season and secondly I've just spent two weeks traveling through the Heartland of America. The back roads across the center of our country tell a story unique to who we are and how our culture is shaped. Have you seen me running around this month? Truly, running around. Yep, I'm back in training for a half marathon and doing my long runs on the weekend around and about the Napa and Sonoma Valleys. I hear some horns honking every now and again and I wonder if it's someone who actually knows me or just wonders why I'm out so early and what I'm doing on the side of the road.

It's sunny, beautiful and 80° outside -- ok, I'm not in the Napa Valley -- and it's hard to imagine the Holidays are just around the corner. Beginning with Halloween and all that candy, moving right to Thanksgiving and all that food, to Christmas with all those dessert parties and ending with New Year's Eve and all that late night champagne (at least for some). I'm all for celebrating in moderation and keeping some healthy choices in the mix but I realize it's a time of year when the thought of nutritious healthy food choices seems the farthest from our minds. This month I'd like to share a few ideas, recipes, and events with you in hopes you'll find something helpful, yummy, and healthy to add to your holiday table.
